Penske Truck Leasing recently announced the top five finishers of its 2023 National Tech Showdown competition. The companywide, voluntary event was designed to test, sharpen and evaluate Penske’s fleet maintenance associates on the mastery of skills required to maintain today’s increasingly complex commercial trucks.

Penske Truck Leasing mobilized a TechForce Foundation STEM program this past weekend by donating the use of a custom 26-foot Freightliner M2 truck at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction. The truck houses TechForce’s Mobile STEM Career Center, a hands-on exhibit designed to engage budding technicians nationwide.
Rick Swanson, a Penske Truck Leasing branch service manager, was recently given the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award for his work with a Penske associate serving in the military. Swanson, who works in Lakewood, Washington, was honored for his support of Gerrit Sluyter, a Penske technician 3 and a reserve lance corporal in the U.S. Marines Corps.
